Pedestrian hit in San Diego accident
On Monday night, an intoxicated driver was attempting to reverse in an apartment parking lot when he struck a pedestrian in the area.
The 48-year-old man was in a North Park underground parking lot trying to back his Corvette into a designated spot. The accident occurred around 6:15 p.m. when the man accelerated instead of pushing on his brake, and hit a 72-year-old woman.
The woman suffered a broken leg as a result of the collision. She was trying to unlock her storage unit when the car ran into her. Police suspected that the man was under the influence of alcohol, and he was subsequently arrested for a felony DUI. He is still residing in the San Diego county jail.
