Bicyclist dies near College area in San Diego
On Wednesday afternoon near the College area in San Diego, a bicyclist was struck and killed.
The bicyclist was traveling in the bike lane on Montezuma Avenue when a motor vehicle driving in the same direction struck him from behind. The man on the bicycle was declared dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the motor vehicle did not receive any injuries in the collision.
Police have begun an investigation into the fatal bicycle accident, and have deemed that alcohol and accelerated speed were not factors in the crash. The name of the bicyclist has not been released, in order for his family to be notified first.
