It is not until we hear of a tragic accidents occurring that we are reminded that human error can still occur.

A tragic accident like this occurred recently in Arizona when a man from California was killed after a plane accident. TheĀ  man was piloting an aircraft when it crashed about 45 miles north of Tuscon.

According to officials in Pima County, the 57-year-old pilot was traveling back to his hometown of El Centro after dropping of relatives in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He made a stop in Benson, Arizona on his way home and the accident occurred while traveling home after this stop. He was the sole participant in the plane when it crashed Sunday night, just outside of Avra Valley.

Just after 9 p.m. officials with the Federal Aviation Administration lost contact with the pilot of the aircraft and contacted border control in order to start a search.

It was during the investigation that officials found the wreckage of the accident. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been determined and a full investigation is underway.
