A 31-year-old motorcyclist is currently in the hospital after he suffered numerous injuries as a result of colliding with a motor vehicle.
The man was operating his motorcycle in Normal Heights around 4:30 p.m. last Friday near Meade Avenue. According to police, the motorcyclist was traveling at accelerated speeds, and performing tricks on his bike. His motorcycle collided with a Honda sedan that was turning onto Meade from Wilson Avenue.
The impact of the crash caused the 31-year-old to become airborne. He suffered serious head injuries, and fractured his femur. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries. Police determined that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

This past Friday, a 21-year old motorcyclist was injured in an accident with a pickup truck in San Diego. According to police, the accident occurred at 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Broadway and 4th Ave. near the Civic Center.
The motorcyclist was injured when an eastbound 1979 Chevy pickup truck crashed into him and his motorcycle. The victim was traveling southbound on 4th Ave. when he was hit. He suffered multiple injuries, including a broken hip.
The accident is still under investigation. Police did not say whether or not the driver of the pickup truck will be cited for any traffic violations in the accident.

Last week, a 28-year old motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Inglewood.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred a little before 5 a.m. at the intersection of Industrial Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard.
Investigators are looking into what caused the two vehicles to collide, but believe the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on La Cienega when his motorcycle and a car crashed.
Paramedics took the injured motorcyclist to a hospital for treatment, but the victim later passed away at the hospital.
